Newcastle dentist gets royal recognition

A dentist from Newcastle has been awarded an MBE for his contribution to NHS dentistry.

Forty-eight-year-old Dr Shiv Pabary, who is a local dentist and advisor for Gateshead and South Tyneside Primary Care Trusts, said that he felt “magical” when he found out the he was being royally recognised.

Dr Pabary, who is also the chairman or the professional conduct committee for the General Dental Council, graduated Newcastle Dental School in 1985 and now works between three NHS dental practices.

He has contributed to the future of British dentistry by also teaching at Newcastle Dental Hospital.

As well as his numerous accomplishments and appointments in dentistry, Dr Pabary also has a law degree and has been a magistrate for around 15 years.

His sister is coming over for India to witness him being given his MBE.
