Newbridge Dental Practice Celebrates National Apprenticeship Award
A Newbridge dental practice has been awarded a major national accolade in honour of its commitment to apprenticeship programmes. Bridge Dental Care was crowned Small Business of the Year at the Apprenticeship Awards Cymru 2015.
Principal dentist Len Smart said that it was a great honour to be awarded the esteemed title, which recognises the hard work of the team and the importance of training and development at the practice. Bridge Dental Care currently employs 2 dental nurses on apprenticeship programmes and training is an integral part of pushing the practice forward and ensuring that it offers clients the best possible service and standards of care.
The awards ceremony took place at the famous Celtic Manor Resort and the team enjoyed an excellent evening out.
Mr Smart said that it came as a great surprised when the practice name was announced as everyone thought they had no chance in such a competitive category.
Dental nursing apprenticeship schemes enable trainee dental nurses to gain valuable skills and experience while working on the job. They learn how to interact with patients and colleagues and gain a real insight into the day to day running of the practice, as well as learning how to carry out important practical tasks and treatments.
