New USB Device Will Tell You to Visit the Dentist

Those that have a fear of visiting the dentist for a check-up may now have the tool to diagnose themselves with dental problems from the comfort of their own home.
A new USB gadget, which has been produced by Japanese company Thanko, is now available on their website and allows for users to take high quality photos and videos of their teeth and upload them onto computers for self diagnosis.
The product is said to allow for users to spot cavities and tartar and identify whether or not a dentist visit is in order, though the product does assume the user knows exactly what they are looking for when diagnosing themselves.
The 12 inch wand shaped device enables you to check out your teeth at close range through a microscope and 6 LED lights as well as a CMOS camera that offers high resolution images of your teeth.
Japanese company Thanko said: “The gadget is for checking cavities and tartar, but skin and hair as well.”
The gadget has not had the support and approval of any qualified dentists and it is still advised that those who think they may need dental treatment should visit their dentist rather than embarking on a self diagnosis mission.
It remains to be seen whether this latest product from the gadget inventors will be taken seriously, but for those interested the product is available on their website for around £50.
