New Shetland Dental Practice Ready for Grand Opening
A new dental clinic will open its doors to patients in Shetland today, Thursday 7th May.
The Family Dental Clinic, which is located in the former Complementary Health Clinic facing Grantfield Garage in Lerwick, will be officially opened following an extensive period of redecoration and refurbishment.
Owner and principal dentist Michael Rylko spent nine months working as a substitute dentist for NHS Shetland last year and has opened the private clinic with the aim of providing accessible and affordable treatment for patients with waiting times of days instead of months or even years. Mr Rylko has been outspoken in his criticism of NHS waiting times and he has promised to make treatment more accessible to patients on the island, while also pledging to keep costs down and ensure that treatment is affordable. The clinic will also offer flexible opening hours, which will make it easier for those with full-time jobs to see a dentist.
Mr Rylko is to be joined at the practice by his wife Agniesaka Kozera, who will be helping out on reception, along with dental nurse Rachael Boxall.
Anyone who is interested in finding out about treatments and services available at the clinic is advised to visit from tomorrow.
