New Rhos-on-Sea dental practice gets the green light

Plans to open a new dental practice in a residential area in Rhos-on-Sea have been given the green light.

The application to create a new surgery in Allanson Road was supported by councillors despite objections from local residents about parking and congestion. Some local people felt that a dental practice was not in keeping with the area, which is a residential street lined with detached and semi-detached homes. The proposed site, number 2, Allanson Road, is a detached property.

Councillors voted unanimously in favour of the plans, which were submitted by Wesley and Claira Davies. They suggested that it would be beneficial to have another dental clinic in the area and maintained that as a small practice, it wouldn’t have a significant impact on traffic or parking. The practice will only have one consultation room and employ two part-time members of staff.

Although councillors welcomed proposals to enhance dental provision in the town, some people were unhappy about the application. Peter and Jennifer Bailey, residents, outlined their concerns in a letter sent to the council. They claimed that there are already eight dentists in the vicinity and said that the parking plan was unsuitable and that a dental practice was not in keeping with the residential area, which they said was highly desirable. They also flagged traffic as a potential issue and said that there are no other commercial buildings in the same part of town.
