New NHS dental practice opens in Pangbourne
Pangbourne is home to a new NHS dental practice.
Dental Care Limited opened its doors to patients for the first time yesterday; the new surgery is located on Reading Road and is now taking on new patients. The new practice is one of three scheduled to open in the next couple of months; practices in Finchampstead and Earley are set to open in the New Year.
The new practices have been commissioned by NHS Berkshire West in response to problems with access to local NHS dental services. There was a shortage of NHS dentists in the region and the trust identified this problem and set about planning new surgeries.
Hugh O’Keeffe, Dental Commissioning Manager, from NHS Berkshire West, said that there had been a problem with access to NHS services in the past. In response to this problem, the trust commissioned the new practices and patients will now be able to benefit from NHS services on their doorstep.
