New NHS dental clinic for Wooton Bassett

Wiltshire Council has approved plans to open a new NHS dental clinic in Wootton Bassett.
Six thousand residents are set to benefit from the surgery, which will be transformed from an empty shop.
This Is Wiltshire reported that the Blue Pebble recruitment shop in Borough Fields shopping centre is to be renovated and turned into in to a new NHS dental practice.
The development is set to take place in the next three years after Integrated Dental Holdings Ltd won the contact for the planning permission.
Lisa Kingsbury, Primary Care Contracts Manager for NHS Wiltshire, is quoted as saying that NHS dental cover for the population of Wootton Bassett is currently well below the county average but added that 6,000 should benefit when the clinic is built.
Peter Doyle town councillor welcomed the decision calling it excellent news.
He said that the nearest NHS dental surgery was in Calne, and that there are a few in Swindon, but in market towns like Wootton Bassett and rural areas it is very much needed.
Local resident, Nicky Yates, 39, was also pleased. She said that people had wanted an NHS dentist in Wootton Bassett for years.
