Mydentist has opened a new dental practice in Blackburn following a £1.2 million expansion project.

The centre, which is located on Railway Road, has grown from six to sixteen surgeries making it mydentist’s second largest practice in the country. After six months of work, the new practice was officially opened by practice manager, Robyn Lawson, who was joined by Love Island star, Callum Jones to cut the ribbon.

The new and improved practice boasts sixteen surgeries and modern communal facilities for patients. The practice has expanded into office space on the first and second floors of the building, creating a huge clinic that is the second largest of mydentist’s 600 UK practices.

Mydentist’s new Blackburn dental centre will offer a wider range of services for local patients in addition to extended opening hours. Patients will be able to book appointments on evenings and Saturdays. The clinic also provides better access for disabled patients and those with limited mobility and it is kitted out with state-of-the-art equipment.

Area development manager, Heidi Helsdon, said that the project has been in the pipeline for a long time and everyone involved with the practice is “thrilled” with the outcome.

The sixteen-surgery practice is one of the biggest in the country and it is designed to meet the needs of patients “now and in the future.” The practice will be able to offer more appointments for patients, provide services outside of normal working hours and offer a membership plan to make private care more affordable.

Ms Helsdon also thanked Love Island’s Callum Jones for attending the ceremony and added that everyone was delighted that he could join in the celebrations.
