A new multimillion pound dental clinic has opened in Dubbo, New South Wales.

The state of the art facility has opened at the Charles Sturt University. The development cost 8 million dollars and will provide incredible training facilities for dental students, as well as dental services for the public.

The university has employed a receptionist, a dentist and a dental assistant and the clinic will officially be open to the public in the next few weeks.

The first students will come from the University of Sydney; they will spend a month undertaking a clinical placement and students from Charles Sturt University will start placements next year.

Professor David Wilson, head of CSU’s School of Dentistry and Health Sciences, said that there will soon be a constant stream of students training at the Dubbo facility and other satellite clinics in Wagga and Bathurst.

The clinic is now accepting new patients and appointments are being made for the coming months. Professor Wilson believes the new clinic will make a huge difference to dental services in the area and will help to cut waiting lists and boost standards of oral health.
