New Dentists Start Work In Burnley

Two new dentists have started work at Ravat and Ray Dental Care; Dr Nitika Virmani and Dr Ilyaz Uddin have joined the team, enabling the practice to take on thousands of new patients.

Dr Virmani qualified in India before moving to the UK in 2006; she has almost a decade of experience and is fluent in a number of languages including English, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.

Dr Uddin graduated from Manchester University last year and is looking forward to the challenge of working in a busy practice. He has experience in both private and NHS practice.

The dentists will be working on a full-time basis and appointments will be available Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Ravat and Ray is a new practice, which boasts all the latest equipment; it is located at the Fold Centre for Integrated Health and Wellbeing. Now that the new dentists have joined the team, around 2,000 new NHS places will be made available over the course of the next two years.

Dr Virmani said that she is looking forward to working with the people of Burnley to raise awareness of the importance of good oral health and improve standards of oral health across the East Lancashire region.

Sharon Young, from NHS East Lancashire, said that the addition of the new dentists is excellent news for local residents.
