A dental practice in Berwick has welcomed a new dentist.

The Brucegate Dental Practice was threatened with closure just ten months ago, but now, after extensive renovation and improvement, the practice is welcoming a new dentist. The practice was saved from closure and local people have responded very positively. At the time, many residents were worried that they would be left without a valuable service, but work has been carried out to bring the practice in line with safety and infection control standards and the team is ready to start taking on new patients.

Principal dentist, Sarah Swales, said that support from local people has been amazing. When they bought the practice last year, they were unable to take on new patients but the addition of Iain Morrison, the surgery can now accept new patients.

Iain trained in Newcastle and he provides general dental treatments, as well as orthodontic services, which will enable the practice to expand their services. Iain said that he was delighted to be joining a practice that means so much to the local community.

The practice has been renovated and now has a brand new waiting area. The addition of a new dentist has also enabled the surgery to offer extended opening hours, which will make dental services more accessible, especially for people who have full-time jobs.
