A brand new dental training centre has opened at Teesside University.

The new facility will provide excellent training facilities for dental students from the university, as well as offering patients a range of dental treatments. The centre will provide care for both private and NHS dental patients.

The Teesside University Dental Practice will be open to both students and patients from today. The practice is located at the brand new 17 million pound Centuria South building, which was opened by the Princess Royal in October last year.

The new practice has eighteen dental chairs and is kitted out with all the latest equipment and gadgets; students will also have access to a range of resources and study facilities.

Kerina Lynch, lead dentist at the practice, said that the new centre will provide optimum quality care for NHS and private dental patients in the area. The focus will be on preventative dental treatments, which help to strengthen the teeth and protect them against decay; this helps to reduce the cost of dental care in the long-term and encourages people to take better care of their teeth and gums.
