New Dental School Opens In New England
The University of New England has opened the doors to a brand new dental school in the north of New England. The school is much needed in the area as before, students had to go to Boston to receive any dental training. Due to the area being very rural, it has been difficult to get dentists to open practices in the area. The hope is that if local students join the new dentistry school they may want to then open dental clinics in the area afterwards.
Studies have found that students who have had to leave the area to train to be a dentist generally do not return. The new dental school has a simulation centre and a state of the art clinic that has seventy dental chairs.
There will be twenty-four patients from many different countries and twenty smaller towns in the Maine area. Hopefully there will be more dental care in the area in a few years.
