Shoppers in Sheffield will now be able to take advantage of dental services when doing their weekly grocery shop, as plans to open a new dental practice in the Wadsley Bridge store have been approved.

The practice, which will boast three surgeries and waiting rooms on the ground level of the store, will offer flexible appointment times and extended opening hours to make dental care more accessible in the area. Opening hours will be 8am-8pm from Monday to Friday, 10am-6pm on Saturdays and 11am-3pm on Sundays.

The practice will employ 10 members of staff on a full-time basis and patients will be able to enjoy a wide range of services, including routine check-ups, general dentistry and preventative care. Same-day urgent appointments will also be available.

The store, which is new, is located on the site previously occupied by Fletcher’s Bakery, off Claywheels Lane. It boasts a number of in-house services, including a bakery, butcher’s counter and delicatessen, and has created around 250 jobs in the area.

Initial plans for the development were submitted four years ago and subsequent plans for the on-site dental practice have now been approved.
