The new owner of a dental practice in Stockton is hoping to increase the range of services available at the surgery.

Libby Allen, the new owner of the Bishopton Lane Dental Practice, which was formerly known as M A Thurland, has revealed plans to introduce a range of cosmetic and restorative dental services. Ms Allen has been a dentist for five years and has realised a lifelong dream buying the dental practice. She said that introducing the new services would give patients a greater choice and enable them to benefit from new treatments on the market.

According to Ms Allen, the practice currently has 4,500 registered patients, but only 1,000 of them attend regular dental appointments; staff at the practice are keen to promote regular visits, as they are an integral part of preventative dental care.

Since she took over the practice, Ms Allen has employed a trainee dental nurse to add to the existing team of two dental nurses and two dental receptionists. The practice offers both NHS and private treatment.
