New dental practice opens in Ebbw Vale
A new dental practice has opened in Ebbw Vale.
Smart Smiles is a state-of-the-art dental clinic, which offers NHS and private services. The practice, which opened on July 19th, is located on The Walk.
Gwent is one of the most underserved areas in Wales. Boosting capacity with a new dental practice will make an incredible difference to residents, many of whom have been on waiting lists to join a dentist for some time.
The practice is owned by Dr Len Smart, who said that it he was very proud of the new, cutting-edge clinic and of the relationship between the team and Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The team has worked closely with the board to maximise opportunities for local patients and increase access in an area where NHS places are at a premium and rates of decay among children are higher than the national average.
The health board has automatically transferred some patients to the clinic and these patients do not need to take any further action. They are encouraged to contact reception to make an appointment. New patient places are now available and further information is provided on the practice website. Patients can also call 01495 361111 to book appointments.
The official opening was attended by the government’s health and social services minister, Eluned Morgan, who said that she was thrilled to be opening the practice.
She congratulated Dr Smart and his team and said that it was clear to see their commitment and dedication to providing local people with high-quality NHS and private dental services.
