A new dental clinic is set to open in Melton this December, it has been confirmed.

JDRM Dental Care will open in Nottingham Street by the end of the year, creating up to 12 new jobs. The practice will open in premises previously occupied by Sit and Settle Café. Clinical director, Ruby Mahal, said that at the moment, the anticipated opening date is December 1st. The clinic will offer extended opening hours from 8 am until 8 pm on weekdays and Saturdays.

The management team is looking to recruit dentists, nurses, reception staff, hygienists and a practice manager in the coming weeks. Four dentists will be based at the practice working on a rota that allows both daytime and evening appointments.

JDRM Dental Care already has clinics in Hinckley and Coalville and the business has recently been successful with an NHS tender application to provide services across Leicestershire and Rutland. There are plans to open new surgeries in Oakham, Loughborough and Leicester in the future.

The new Melton practice will open on bank holidays, and urgent appointments will be available. The practice will cater for between 6,000 and 8,000 dental patients per year.

The chain applied to change the use of the premises from a bar/restaurant to a dental surgery and work is expected to get underway in the near future.
