New Cosmetic Dentistry Calculator for iPhone, iPad, iTouch transforms Smile Makeovers
Cosmetic dentist Dr Jared Plitt had designed a Cosmetic Dentistry Calculator application for download from iTunes to use with iPod Touch, iPad, and iPhone.
Dr. Plitt, driven by is interest to research and study the latest in dental techniques, technology, and materials, initially designed the application for his own use. He told Dentistry IQ: “I was looking for a way to help my patients get the perfect smile and to save myself a little time in the process.”
Cosmetic Dentistry Calculator Version 1.0 uses qualified cosmetic dentistry criteria and aims to improve cosmetic dental cases through analysis and calculation of teeth dimensions, such as the width-to-length ratio of maxillary anterior teeth. Once existing teeth measurement is input, the system calculates ideal teeth dimensions and proportionos from the facial.
The application is useful to dental practitioners, cosmetic dentists, lab technicians, dental ceramists, and dental students for aesthetic case planning, for diagnosis, and as an aid during patient consultation. The Smile Design Checklist is of particular interest to cosmetic dentists for calculating dimensions of all front teeth for forming a perfectly natural-looking smile.
