Straight teeth can now be achieved quickly and inexpensively, it has been claimed.

The Daily Mail reports that the Inman Aligner can straighten teeth in one month and at less than half the price of traditional treatments.

Costing around £1,500, the system is made of a clear wire which can be slipped on and off adult teeth.

Tif Qureshi, a cosmetic dentist from Kent, claimed the Inman Aligner will be "the treatment of choice" for people with crooked teeth.

"It is ideal because the brace can be removed for job interviews, family photos or any type of special occasion," commented Dr Tim Bradstock-Smith of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

The newspaper reports that the treatment consists of two half-hour appointments and then regular monthly checkups.

It claims the aligner must be worn for between 16 hours a day but can be removed for sleeping and eating.

According to a survey by Mintel for the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, one in five people close their mouth to conceal their teeth when posing for photographs.ADNFCR-1374-ID-18435960-ADNFCR
