Mydentist submits application to open a new dental practice in Shipley

Mydentist has submitted a planning application to open a brand new dental surgery in Shipley.

The chain is hoping to turn Crowgill House on Rosse Street into a new practice. The premises were previously occupied by Yo Yo Bar and Restaurant and have been vacant since the Japanese eatery closed a year ago.

Statements that accompany the proposal suggest that the change of use would benefit local dental patients, providing them with access to “high quality dental services” in a central location that is easily accessible. The practice, if given the green light, will open 7 days a week. In addition to providing local residents with valuable health services, the application also states that the renovation will enhance the visual appeal of the town, as the unit has been vacant for some time.

Floorplans for the surgery suggest that there will be nine treatment rooms, as well as an X-ray room, a reception and waiting area, staff and patient toilet facilities and a staffroom. The new practice will open from 8am to 8pm on weekdays and from 9am until 5pm on weekends and bank holidays.

The application suggests that the practice would bring the street back to life and offer wider benefits for Shipley’s local businesses, as patients could combine a trip to the dentist with visits to shops, salons, supermarkets and other leisure and retail facilities.

Mydentist has around 600 dental practices across Europe. If given the go ahead, the new surgery will be the most recent in a string of new practices in the Bradford area.
