Mydentist reveals plans to merge Warrington surgeries

Mydentist has revealed plans to merge three dental surgeries in Warrington.

The dental firm, which operates practices across the UK, is planning to merge three of its surgeries to form a larger practice in Warrington. The proposals will mean that existing practices in Fearnhead, Padgate Lane and the Westbrook Centre, will close. A brand new hub will open at Junction Nine Retail Park.

Representatives from mydentist claim that merging the three surgeries will improve services for patients. The new dental centre at Junction Nine Retail Park will be larger, and patients will also benefit from new, more modern facilities. The new practice will also offer improved accessibility, extended opening hours and free parking for up to four hours.

Patients who are currently registered with the three practices that are set to merge will be able to access NHS and private dentistry at the new mydentist clinic. If the merger goes ahead, existing dentists and members of staff will relocate to the new centre.

Patients have been asked to provide feedback on the proposals and share ideas and thoughts. Those affected have been sent a letter detailing what is happening. There is also information about how patients can share their views with mydentist.

One patient contacted the local press to express his shock at the news and said that he was against moving the practices to a location that requires people to drive or take public transport.

Some people, who may have been able to walk to their local surgery, may now face a 45-minute walk to the retail park. There have also been issues raised about traffic during busy periods.
