Mydentist, one of the UK’s largest dental chains, is encouraging dental professionals to get involved in a charity cycle challenge.

The Open Ride 2022 is a new charity fundraiser, which involves navigating the twists and turns of the Peak District on two wheels. The event is open to everyone and mydentist is keen to get all dental professionals who love to cycle or explore the great outdoors to take part.

The challenge will take place on Sunday May 22nd and there is a choice of routes available, including a 50km or 100km trail and a gentler 16km route for beginners. The event is free, but cyclists have been encouraged to raise as much money as possible. All proceeds will be donated to dental charity, Bridge2Aid and Dementia UK.

Mydentist chief executive, Tom Riall and director of private and specialist, Nick Marston, have already signed for up the event and the duo is looking forward to bringing together dental professionals from up and down the country to raise funds for amazing causes.

Nick and Tom are both keen cyclists and they wanted to organise an event that will be physically challenging, but also hugely rewarding. The aim is to raise money while also enabling participants to meet new friends and take part in an event that promises to be memorable.

Cycling enthusiasts who cannot make the date are encouraged to complete the distance at home to help with the fundraising effort. The proceeds will be split between the two charities. Dementia UK provides critical support for individuals and families affected by dementia. Bridge2Aid offers training for dental practitioners through volunteer programmes in some of the world’s poorest countries.
