Mission of Mercy dental clinic helps thousands in New Mexico

A free dental clinic held by the Mission of Mercy has helped more than two thousand people in New Mexico.

The two-day clinic involved more than 200 dental volunteers and provided more than a million dollars worth of treatment; 2194 patients benefitted from dental treatment.

Many of the patients had extensive dental health problems and most had not seen a dentist in months, even years. Patients queued for days to get an appointment at the event, with many relying on free clinics for dental care, as they cannot afford regular dental treatment.

The event was held in conjunction with the New Mexico Dental Association and Delta Dental. The Mission of Mercy charity hosts events all over America to try and treat people and provide preventative treatments, which will help to promote good oral health in the future. The Mission of Mercy is now working alongside dentists and dental organisations in New Mexico to organise events in smaller communities in the state.
