A dentist from Market Harborough has retired after almost 40 years of service.

Graham Thompson, 61, has been looking after patients at Oasis Dental Care in Market Harborough for 39 years and he has decided to retire to focus on his other passion, photography.

Mr Thompson, from Burton Overy, said that he is now looking forward to pursuing his interest in photography and starting a foundation degree at Leicester College.

Mr Thompson is a very popular figure and he has cared for many generations over the course of his career. He said that he thoroughly enjoyed working in the town for such a long time and getting to know local people and he is now really looking forward to taking time out to spend more time with loved ones, including his grandchildren, and hone his photography skills.

Mr Thompson’s colleagues and patients have paid tribute to the dentist and he will be sadly missed; he was pictured in the local paper raising a toast to his retirement with colleagues, Damien Kirk, Sarah McLaughlan, Lisa Mayes, Sohaj Gill, Tanja Robb and Kirsty Sutherland.
