A man has been left with a £6,000 dental bill after an unprovoked attack in a Swansea nightclub.

Jonathan Maxfield had recently moved from Birmingham to be closer to his girlfriend. The pair was out celebrating their anniversary when Jonathan was attacked at Fiction & Vinyl in the early hours of March 12th.

The 22-year-old was attacked while sitting in the smoking area of the popular nightspot and when he came around in a back room, he was holding a bucket, which was catching blood, surrounded by door staff. He said the night had been going well and had no idea what happened.

Jonathan had two of his front teeth knocked out in the attack and he also suffered facial injuries and damage to several other teeth. The incident happened on a busy night in the Welsh city, with nightclubs and bars packed full of rugby fans who had been watching Wales take on France in the Six Nations.

Jonathan’s girlfriend, Leah, recalls one of the men involved in the attack and described him as tall, around 6’3, slim with dark blonde or light brown hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt and was with two others. There were also many other people who were there at the time of the incident and the pair is hoping that somebody has more information, which could help police to find the culprits.

The incident has left Jonathan feeling anxious about leaving the house and he also faces a £6,000 bill for dental treatment. At 22, he currently has a denture, but doesn’t want to have false teeth for the rest of his life.
