A Malvern dental practice has been rewarded for going the extra mile for local people.

Beacon DentalCare was crowned the winner in the category, ‘Provision of extreme patient services’ at a ceremony held by Dental Mavericks, a charity that provides help and support for people overseas. The awards ceremony took place at the Thistle Hotel in Newcastle and practice owners, David Watson and Karen Sutton attended to collect the award. David and Karen accepted the award and told the audience about the 25 charities the team had helped over the course of the past 12 months.

As well as receiving an award, the team also claimed an all expenses trip to Spain, called the Profits in Paradise 2012 Mastermind Retreat, which is scheduled for June.

Mrs Sutton said that it was a great honour to receive the award and added that the whole team had backed the Beacon DentalCare project 2011 and helped out hundreds of local people, raising around £7,500 for various charities.

Mr Watson also said that the Shining Light award has been a great success. Local people were encouraged to nominate somebody who had made a difference to the community and the practice was inundated with suggestions. The winner is due to be announced in the near future. The practice has also recently celebrated being named Best Dental Practice in the Midlands.
