A Chicago dentist has decided to use his skill to help children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

But don’t worry, Dr Mark Kachube won’t be drilling or filling anybody’s ears he will be using his magical talents instead.

The dental-magician is re-establishing a special magic program that has specifically been designed for children with hearing difficulties.

Dr Kachube, master illusionist and head of Channahon Family Dentistry, said he had done a Halloween magic show for more than 20 years and after inquiries from a specific teacher he had adapted to show for deaf children.

However, the special show was dropped after a number of years because the teacher moved on and Dr Kachube’s dental career took off.

But that is all about to change as Dr Kachube is bringing back his show following calls from his patients.

Dr Kachube said that one of his patients, who has a granddaughter who is deaf, had suggested the idea of giving deaf and hard of hearing youngsters magic lessons so he decided to start up his scheme again.

He added that the program aims to improve the development of these children’s social skills and expand their group of friends.
