The dental team from Liverpool Community Health Trust is preparing to launch a toothbrush exchange as part of National Smile Month.

The team will be encouraging people to swap their existing toothbrushes for brand new brushes and they will also be giving out free tubes of fluoride toothpaste, which are suitable for the whole family.

The dental health team will be based at the NHS Health Information Centre in Hanover Street between the 27th and 30th May and everyone is invited to drop in between 10am and 4pm to collect their new toothbrush and toothpaste. Members of the team will also be on hand to discuss ways to prevent decay and gum disease and offer information about brushing and flossing and healthy eating.

National Smile Month is an annual event, which is organised by the British Dental Health Foundation.

Helen Parsley, principal dental promotion officer at the trust, said that everyone is welcome to participate in the toothbrush exchange and the team is looking forward to meeting everyone and giving them advice about keeping their teeth clean and healthy.

The dental team will also be running a poster competition for children and there will be a number of road show events taking place over the course of the next few weeks in and around Liverpool.
