Lincoln emergency dental centre to close

Sample News Big

An emergency dental clinic in Lincoln is set to close in the next few months.

The Dental Access Centre, situated on Dixon Street, has treated thousands of patients since it first opened ten years ago.

Local dentists have already been told about the closure but said they were not surprised by the plans.

They believe the centre has served a valuable cause but now dentistry in the area is better equipped to cope with emergencies.

Nigel Bourne, chair of the Local Dental Committee, said that the dentistry services situation had changed as Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust had commissioned several new practices.

He claimed that access and waiting list problems were virtually non-existent and that the access centre was no longer needed.

Bourne, of Oasis Dental Care, Doddington Road, assured worried local people that he was confident that any lost services would be replaced.
