A popular Leith dental practice has new owners.

KF Dental has joined the Clyde Munro group. The practice, which is located in East Hermitage Place, has around 5,000 patients.

Founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team, Katrina Trocka and Fotis Pappas, KF Dental offers a wide range of NHS and private dental services. The site has been used as a dental practice since 1967. When Katrina and Fotis took over, they set about expanding and developing the business, adding a third treatment room and modernising the technology and equipment.

The couple will continue to work at the practice and are looking forward to being able to focus on patient care and delivering high-quality dentistry now that Clyde Munro will be running the business side of the venture.

Clyde Munro is Scotland’s largest dental chain, and it continues to grow rapidly. The company now has over 55 dental practices in Scotland and recently secured additional funding to invest in more clinics.

Talking about the acquisition, Fotis, who is originally from Thessaloniki, Greece, said that it was “brilliant news” as it will secure jobs for the existing team and ensure continuity of care for patients.

Clyde Munro will be taking over the “vast amounts of administration and form-filling,” enabling Katrina and Fotis to devote their time to their passion, which is clinical care.

Clyde Munro was launched with a goal to create a new family dentist for the nation, focusing solely on Scottish practices. The company passed the milestone of 50 practices last year and is continuing to expand its portfolio.

The firm has also become synonymous with community development and eco-friendly operations and is currently working on initiatives to promote reducing and recycling dental waste, invest in eco-friendly pool cars and create green practices.
