The owner of a dental practice in South Leicestershire has submitted plans for an extension in a bid to increase capacity by 2,000 patients.

The team at Fleckney Dental Practice in School Road is hoping to treat more patients. Currently, the practice, which offers both NHS and private services, caters for almost 7,000 local patients.

Mr H Amin has applied for permission to build a first-floor extension, which would create two new treatment rooms. The extension would take the number of consulting rooms to five, with the team able to accommodate an extra 2,000 patients.

If the plans get the green light from Harborough District Council, the extension will be added to the west side of the building. The existing office will be extended and the staff room will move. The owner is also planning to hire additional staff to take on new patients. Currently, there are five full-time and six part-time employees. If the plans get the go-ahead, the team will expand, adding new clinical and administrative staff.

There will be no changes to the parking arrangements at the practice, which used to be a residential property. The opening hours will remain the same, with appointments available between 8 am and 6 pm from Monday to Saturday.
