American singer LeAnn Rimes has blamed a “dental nightmare” for forcing her to cancel a gig on Friday 5th October.

Rimes was due to begin a new tour in Wendover, Nevada on Friday night but instead spent the early hours of Saturday morning at the Emergency Room receiving treatment for dental problems she claim have plagued for several months.

Rimes took to the Internet to apologise to fans, writing in her blog that she had no option but to cancel the concert after suffering severe dental pain, which was caused by an infection. The singer, who is best known for chart hit How Do I Live, said that she had been “living in a dental nightmare” for the last 10 months and added that she hoped that she would now get back on track after receiving treatment.

Writing to fans, Rimes described the ER at 3am as “interesting” and thanked her husband’s doctor friend for taking care of her. She said that she was planning to take it easy for a while to recover and would hopefully be revealing plans to get back on the road soon. Rimes said that it was hard to understand what had been going on for the last 10 months but hoped that now she was “in good hands” everything would be fine.

This is the second round of gigs Rimes has cancelled as a result of dental woes; in July, she cancelled a concert to undergo emergency root canal treatment. The singer also postponed a gig in August after checking into a treatment facility to receive treatment for stress and anxiety.

Signing off on the blog, LeAnn Rimes said that she was hoping to see everyone on tour soon.
