Kiwis flock to Thailand for dental treatment

Sample News Big

Dental tourism amongst New Zealanders is on the rise following the growth of dental tourism companies and increasingly competitive prices abroad.

The latest trend sees Kiwis travelling to Thailand for treatment. Thailand has been a popular destination for Europeans for many years now, as prices are considerably cheaper and patients like to combine their treatment with a relaxing, exotic holiday.

Now, Kiwis are starting to travel to Thailand and the destination has become even more popular since tourists realised that many of the dentist practising in Thailand have received training in the USA. New clinics are popping up all over the country and most have state of the art technology, brand new equipment and modern, spacious surroundings. Most patients pay around half the price that they are quoted in their own country and some even pay up to two thirds less.

In light of the popularity of travelling to Thailand for treatment, North Harbour Corporate Travel firm has launched a brand new dental travel department, which will specialise in dental tourism and organise packages for dental tourists. According to Managing Director, Richard Trowbridge, patients can have treatment as well as a luxury, all inclusive package holiday for all the family for the same price as the treatment alone in New Zealand; consequently more and more New Zealanders are taking the plunger and heading over to the exotic shores of Thailand.
