Former Sex Pistols singer John Lydon has developed speech problems after undergoing dental surgery.

Lydon, who earned the nickname Johnny Rotten as a result of his decaying molars, underwent surgery to treat gum disease and a double abscess. Lydon admits that he has always suffered from poor oral health and said that his parents never taught him about oral hygiene. Talking to Contact Music, Lydon said that he had very few natural teeth left and admitted that he was constantly having treatment for infections.

Lydon is now suffering from a minor speech impediment after having surgery on a double abscess and has had eight stitches in his front lip, which he says pull every time he laughs.
