Jersey Residents Could Get Help With Dental Charges

Residents in Jersey could benefit from more help from the States with dental charges, it has been revealed.

New Social Security Minister, Francis Le Gresley, has commissioned a review and dental charges and the cost of dental care will form major parts of the report.

The review is being carried out following an announcement confirming that plans for a £1 million mobile dental scheme, which was due to be funded by the States, have been scrapped, with the announcement made by Senator Alan Breckon earlier this year. The senators agreed that a review should be undertaken next year instead of a debate being carried out on the subject.

Senator Le Gresley confirmed that he was considering using money from the Health Insurance Fund to make charges more affordable and islanders pay into the fund by means of Social Security Contributions.
