Jaw-breaking rugby player banned

Sample News Big
The rugby player who broke the jaw of Chinnor scrum half Toby Prescott’s in four places has received a suspension from the Rugby Football Union.

Puks Ngapaku, a Bournemouth fly half, has been band from playing rugby for six weeks by the union (RFU).
The fly half only received a yellow card when the forearm smash took place on 5 September 2009.
However, he has now been suspended after a RFU disciplinary hearing, which was held on 7 October 2009, was shown a video of the incident by Chinnor Rugby Club.
It was thought that the injury might leave Prescott on the injury table for the rest of the season but scans are now suggesting that the injury might not merit that.
This Is Oxfordshire reports that Jason Bowers, Chinnor head coach, said Prescott was seeing a dental surgeon and they hoped to have him back in the next few weeks.
Eric Brown is due to replace Prescott when Chinnor face Weston-Super-Mare on Saturday 10 October 2009.

Just to advise you but the above ban has since been lifted as Ngapakus appeal was successful and the tackle was not illegal as per the video footage provided to the RFU.

The case was overturned as previous judgment was proved to be incorrect aka nonsense waste of time.
Rugby injuries such as this occur on a frequent basis, it’s not nice but it is part of a physical game.

Not sure but think a mouth guard is required to be worn by all players..this might have reduced the injury as he was not wearing one at the time.
