Invisalign Proficiency Programme Introduced in North America

Sample News Big
Align Technology announced at the beginning of June that they will be implementing a ‘Product Proficiency’ programme in North America.
The programme is aimed to give Invisalign-trained doctors more confidence and experience to achieve high quality outcomes for patients using Invisalign products. Invisalign’s evolving, skill-based procedures require regular training and education.
The programme evidently shows Align Technology’s commitment to quality and success. Effective on June 1st, 2009, doctors providing Invisalign treatment in North America are to complete 10 Invisalign-specific continuing education credits each year, as well as starting 10 Invisalign cases to conserve an active provider status.
Doctors who do not meet the annual requirements at the end of each calendar year will be able to treat any ‘work-in-progress’ cases but will not be permitted to submit any new cases or use Invisalign products. Doctors can retake the Invisalign Clear Essential I training to reactivate their provider status.
As part of the programme Align Technology has also introduced a Proficiency Pathway to secure doctors with appropriate education, tools and support. The Proficiency Pathway has been divided into six sections; under each section, Align has provided specific course content to increase doctor knowledge based on experience level.
The company expects the programme will not impact their financial result for 2009. Align Technology’s commitment to education and training can guarantee, in the future, a higher success rate that will draw more patients to the Invisalign product line.
Align Technology is committed to helping patients and doctors gain confidence and product knowledge. With the combination of training and experience available, Invisalign hopes to improve both the skill of providers and the outcomes for patients. For such a fast-growing market, up to date education and recent experience is essential for great treatment and end results.
