An Inverness dentist has won the T.C. White prize for outstanding achievement in his dental surgery examinations.

Andrew Young beat-off more than 130 competitors to win the top gong in the Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons’, which is part of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, examinations.

The 25-year-old, originally from Lanark, said that he felt flattered to have been bestowed this accolade and said that it was a great feeling to have his efforts recognised.

He claimed that studying for this exam had expanded his clinical knowledge and improved his confidence in certain areas of dentistry.

White, a former dental faculty dean, was a famous scholar and a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
