Inverclyde dentists donate Christmas gifts to put smiles on local children’s faces

A dental team from Gourock, Inverclyde has been spreading Christmas cheer after deciding to skip the traditional Secret Santa in favour of buying gifts for local children.

The team from Dentistry on the Clyde bought presents to donate to Children in Poverty Inverclyde instead of buying presents for each other. Each staff member pulled an age group out of a hat and went shopping for festive treats. The gifts were then handed over to the charity and will be distributed to children who may not get much for Christmas this year.

Dental nurse, Chloe Mitchell, was in charge of the gift collection. She said that the team was keen to support the charity again and donate to the toy appeal. Everyone enjoyed going shopping for their presents and it felt good to be able to make a difference to local children.

Children in Poverty trustee, John McGovern, thanked everyone at Dentistry on the Clyde for their generous donations for the toy appeal and their ongoing support of the charity. He added that Chloe and her colleagues were “very generous and considerate of those less fortunate” and said that it would bring smiles to faces at a time of year that can be very difficult for many.

Mr McGovern also praised the selection of gifts presented by the practice, which he described as “wonderful.”
Chloe and her colleagues have supported the charity before and they wanted to give back again this Christmas after a tough year. The presents will be given to children who don’t have much, ensuring that they can enjoy the festive season.
