Integrated Dental Holdings (IDH), a prominent UK dentistry network, have just installed state-of- the-art Wyse S10 client virtualisation technology developed by California-based Wyse Technology, to replace their current computerised system for improved IT security, central storage and for reduced costs. Mr Bullock, head of IT at IDH, said that all practices were originally given access to thin clients with 1000 put in place at 100 locations around the country. This has lessened maintenance expenses and cost linked to PC support..

The IDH group supports 250 plus practices throughout the UK which translates to a service of around two million patients. More than 1500 dental professionals striving for leadership in patient care solutions are part of this network that also provides their IT support. According to Mr Bullock, the turn down in the quantity of assistance calls was greatly different to times when we had access to normal PCs at all sites. One great difference was turning on a device and having it ready to use within around twenty seconds, highly unlikely with the PCs that were once used.

Wyse Technology’s are forerunners in Cloud Client Computing which is a thin and zero client computing-based desktop virtualisation software and hardware service offering an optimised and secure user experience that is also more environmentally friendly. David Angwin, the EMEA executive of marketing at Wyse Technology said that ID is an outstanding example of how a customer virtualisation project can be organised speedily.
