A husband and wife team is all smiles after securing a deal to take over two dental surgeries in Paisley.

Dimitrios Giatras and Kelly Ntaoutidou have successfully taken over Happy Smiles, a practice, which has clinics in St Mirren Brae and Ralston. The couple has succeeded Alastair Watson, who was at the helm for nearly 40 years.

Happy Smiles serves around 13,000 patients in the Paisley area and the ambitious couple is hoping to add to the client base by introducing a host of new services. Having relocated from Glasgow, the pair is looking to add treatments, including dental implants and the latest cosmetic innovations, to the list.

To provide additional places for NHS patients, the practice has already taken on six new dentists and three dental nurses. The husband and wife dental team has also set about renovating the two surgeries, with work set to be completed in the near future. As well as replacing the existing signage to provide a more modern look, the couple is also refreshing the reception areas and waiting rooms.

Speaking about the new venture, Mr Giatras said that it was an incredibly exciting time for Happy Smiles. The aim is to build on the success and reputation of the existing clinics and expand the treatment list and welcome new patients. Everyone in the local area has already been extremely friendly, and the team is looking forward to getting to know new patients and becoming an integral part of the community.

The acquisition of Happy Smiles was made possible by a funding package from the Royal Bank of Scotland.
