A dental practice in Hull has doubled its capacity and 6,000 new NHS places are now available in the city.

The Priory House Dental Care practice on Hessle High Road will be taking on new patients over the next twelve months; two new dentists have been recruited and the surgery will be able to provide care for a total of twelve thousand patients.

Simon Hearnshaw, from Priory House Dental Care, said that the expansion would make a huge difference to local people. Mr Hearnshaw said that there was a demand for more places in Hull and the local NHS trust was working hard to try and ensure that everyone in Hull can access an NHS dentist.

In the last five years, NHS Hull has invested a huge amount of money in local NHS dental services, with the principal aim of ensuring everybody has the option of registering with a dentist. Representatives from the trust said that they did not want patients to be placed on a waiting list and claimed that everyone in Hull should now be able to register with an NHS dentist.

At the moment, there are seventeen practices across the area offering new patient appointments and nine practices offering emergency dental care.

Patients who wish to register with Priory House Dental Care are advised to contact the surgery directly or visit the NHS Hull website.
