Homeless Lottery Winner Plans To Splash Out On Dental Treatment

A homeless man who scooped a lottery prize in the USA has said that he plans to spend some of his winnings on dental treatment.

Dennis Mahurin, from Bloomington, Indiana, won $50,000 on a scratch card; he currently lives in a tent, but is not planning to use his prize money to move. The 51 year old said that rather than moving out of the tent he plans to give eight of the homeless people around him $100 each. He is also planning to visit his son and pay for dental care.

Mr Mahurin said that he did not see the point in moving from the tent because he was “as happy as can be” living in there. Instead, he feels that his money would be put to much better use by helping out friends.

He also said that he would like to put some money aside into savings and he wants to visit a dentist after going for a long period of time without seeing a dentist on a regular basis.

Mr Mahurin said that he currently has eight people in mind to help out, but he is open to helping more people and expects the number to increase as news of his jackpot win spreads around the area
