Hilton Dentist Pays Local School a Visit
A dentist from Hilton took time out from the dental chair to visit local schoolchildren recently. Jatinder Dhadli was joined by dental partner Randeep Gill at Hilton Primary School. The duo is set to open a new surgery, which will be located at Wellbrook Medical Centre, this spring.
Jatinder organised the visit with head of Year 4 Paul Churn as a means of educating children about oral health and giving them some tips to help reduce the risk of decay and keep their teeth and gums healthy. During the day, the duo gave presentations, invited the children to ask questions and played fun and informative games.
Although the prospect of holding the attention of more than 100 children seemed daunting, Jatinder said he had enjoyed the experience and feedback from the children was positive. Mr Churn said the kids had a great time and had learned a lot from the visit.
One of the primary aims of the visit was to talk to the children about sugar and the impact it can have on oral health. The group played a sugar game towards the end of the session and this was designed to show them how much sugar they take in when they consume fizzy drinks and sweets.
