Hendon Dentist Celebrates ‘Halifax Giving Extra’ Award
A dentist from Hendon is all smiles after he received a Halifax Giving Extra award in recognition of his hard work and willingness to go the extra mile for others.
Dr Brian Doherty, a father of four, was nominated by a patient. The awards are given out to those who are always willing to give a little more for the benefit of others. As well as devoting time to his patients, Dr Doherty also fundraises for the Passage, a homeless charity in London and is an active member of his local church; he is also on the board of governors at the local primary school and takes time out to teach the children about oral hygiene and health issues.
Dr Doherty said that he was delighted, but very surprised to be given the award.
One of Dr Doherty’s patients said he goes beyond his duty to you and is incredibly reliable.
Jenni Falconer, TV and radio presenter and ambassador for the Halifax awards, said that it is clear to see that Dr Doherty is a deserving recipient of the award, as the work he does the lives of the people of Hendon.
