Residents in Hackney are being invited to attend local events to promote NHS services in the area.

The local NHS trust, NHS City and Hackney is hosting a roadshow, which aims to promote local services and inform people about the options available to them. The event will be held next Tuesday and Wednesday and everyone is welcome.

Deputy Director of Primary Care Commissioning, Alice Benton said that the roadshow is a brilliant opportunity to meet local people and inform them about the dental services on offer in Hackney. People can learn about practices with free places, NHS dental charges and exemptions and the range of treatments available in the area. Members of staff from the trust will also be on hand to help patients who currently do not have a dentist to find one.

Access to NHS dental services is good in the Hackney area; however, many patients say that they have experienced difficulties registering with a dentist in the past and have subsequently given up. The roadshow will help people in this situation and enable them to register with a dentist. Staff are also hoping to talk to people about the cost of dental care; many people are unaware that treatment is free for all children under the age of 16 and many adults who could receive free dental care do not visit their dentist because they think it will be too expensive.
