Grenada leaders thank New York dental team

The Grenada government have thanked a New York dental team which has been working hard to improve the oral health of hundreds of Grenadans.

New York University (NYU) sent a team of 46 its members to administer free care to underprivileged Grenadians – particularly the young and the elderly.

Peter David, foreign affairs minister, called NYU’s program “wonderful” and said that the Grenada government and the population were “extremely grateful’’.

NYU’s team has performed hundreds extractions, root canals, reconstructive surgery and fillings while on the Caribbean island.

As well as treating local patients, NYU have also been conducting a study of the oral health of Grenadian students while encouraging youngsters to get into the habit of brushing their teeth twice a day.
