Glasgow emergency dental services disrupted due to flooding

Emergency dental services in Glasgow have been disrupted due to flooding at the Glasgow Dental Hospital.

Patients who need out of hours treatment are being advised to visit Bridgeton Health Centre; some patients who were already waiting for treatment at the specialist dental unit have already been transferred to the centre.

It is believed that a fault in the hospital’s water tank caused the flooding, which has damaged lecture theatres and teaching facilities at the hospital. Some clinical areas have been temporarily relocated to other floors of the hospital; the emergency department, which was located on the first floor, has been moved to a different area of the hospital, which has not been affected by water damage. Daytime emergencies will be treated at the hospital but out of hours care will be provided at Bridgeton Health Centre for the time being.
