A Fort Worth dental practice will provide free dental treatment for uninsured patients tomorrow.

Fort Worth Dental on Citylake Boulevard will offer free dental treatment for the first 100 patients to come through the door tomorrow. The event is part of a national initiative run by non-profit organisation, Dentistry from the Heart.

Tomorrow’s event will be hosted by father and son team, Dr Arthur Mund and Dr Justin Mund and fellow dentist, Dr Terry Zang. The team said that they are anticipating a high turnout and will work as many hours as it takes to treat 100 patients. Dr Mund said that he was unsure whether he would find a line of people outside when he opened the doors at 7:30 am tomorrow.

The dentists will work alongside dental hygienists and they hope to be able to provide treatment for as many patients as possible. The aim of the clinic is to help people who are in need; a growing number of people are struggling to afford dental care and free clinics are becoming increasingly popular, with some patients camping out overnight to try and get an appointment.

Last month, a free clinic was hosted by Dr Tim Huckabee in Southlake and patients started to queue for appointments at 1 o’clock in the morning. During the day, 120 patients were treated.

Dentistry from the Heart hosts free dental events all over the USA; this year alone, the charity will help around 30,000 people. In the last ten years, the charity has provided more than 9 million dollars in free dental care and treated more than 50,000 people.
