Former Police Station to be Converted into a Dental Practice in Lancashire

Plans have been unveiled to turn a former police station in Barrowford, Lancashire, into a dental practice.

The building, which was built in the 1800s, has been vacant for a decade, but recently, plans to convert the premises into a dental surgery were submitted. Councillors had previously raised concerns about the building, fearing that it was vulnerable to criminal damage due to its age and the fact that it had been empty for so long.

Councillor John Pope, chairman of the Barrowford parish council, said that the council had welcomed news of the submission, as the building has been out of use for a number of years.

A spokesman for applications said that it was positive news that the building may be used in the near future, as it is an attractive building and is a focal point in the town.

Applications have also been submitted to use part of the building for office space.
